The Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly organised a second training session focusing on Below EU Threshold Procurement obligations. The content and the training was created and presented by legal experts from Beauchamps LLC.
The event took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Athlone, Co. Westmeath on Monday 25 November, with Aine Smith, Partner, Head of Procurement, and Pat McInerney, Partner, Head of Public Sector at Beauchamps, leading the session.
The aim of the training was to provide beneficiaries of funding for projects under the EU Just Transition Fund – particularly smaller beneficiaries such as SMEs and Community Groups – with the necessary skills and knowledge they need of how to undertake procurement for their project(s) in line with EU and national procurement rules, particularly when it falls under certain thresholds. The Training will be designed to enable beneficiaries to ensure compliance with procurement regulations and requirements, and to offer personalised support and guidance.
The training was divided into two distinct parts: (1) presenting background context and a checklist for undertaking below threshold procurement and (2) one-on-one clinics where participants could discuss specific procurement issues and receive personalised guidance.
