Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy Review

The Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly has commenced the review process of the Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy (RSES) for the Eastern and Midland Region.

The pre-draft public consultation stage of the review of the RSES occurred between 26^th March to 22^nd May 2026 inclusive, where individuals, communities, local authorities, state agencies and government departments were invited to provide comments on coordinated spatial planning and economic development across the region in advance of the preparation of the draft RSES. The Assembly produced a Strategic Issues Paper (EMRA_RSES – Strategic Issues Paper v1.14) to guide the preparation of comments and submissions.

133 submissions were received in total during the pre-draft public consultation period. A Director’s summary report on the submissions received during the pre-draft public consultation stage was prepared and presented to the Regional Assembly members at the Regional Assembly meeting on 10^th July 2026.
