Regional Development Monitor – New website
The Regional Development Monitor is a curated collection of data, dashboards and mapping tools to inform decision-making and monitor progress across Ireland’s three Regional Spatial and Economic Strategies (RSES). From today, 2 October 2026, the existing RDM website hosted on the Tailte Éireann GeoHive platform will no longer be available. The Regional Development Monitor will instead be available at its new address: www.regionalmonitor.ie
This move represents an exciting new development for the RDM. The establishment of the new platform has taken place in parallel with various enhancements:
- Navigation has been completely redesigned, making content much more accessible and navigable using more relatable themes.
- Overall front-end design has been improved.
- All map-driven applications have been redeveloped for the new platform.
- The Census Atlas now can be filtered globally by Regional Assembly and Local Authority.
Over the coming months, we plan to further expand the services, data and tools available through the platform, strengthening its role in supporting the Regional Spatial and Economic Strategies (RSESs) and other planning initiatives across Ireland. We encourage users to update any bookmarks or saved links to the RDM from 2 October and look forward to welcoming you to the new platform.
