EUJTF Project Profile: ReSHAPE
Project Summary
ReSHAPE stands for Regional Skills Horizon and Pathways to Employment. The focus of this project is to deliver education, training and skills development opportunities for the economic development and environmental sustainability of the Midlands region. The project supports individuals, employers and training providers across the Midlands through structured skills mapping and intelligent pathway alignment.
Its activities include:
- the development of an intelligent app to produce a ‘live’ and dynamic aggregated skills map across the region
- the delivery of targeted educational and training programmes
- delivery of a series of masterclasses, workshops, innovation drivers, and hackathons aimed at encouraging start-up activity in the green economy.
The project is a collaboration between Munster Technological University (MTU), Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and the University of Limerick (UL).
Overall Objective:
ReSHAPE is shared regional infrastructure connecting people, education and industry, aiming to strengthen opportunities, resilience and a future-ready workforce.
- Supports fully-funded upskilling and reskilling opportunities for learners.
- Through intelligent analysis and mapping techniques, identifies and assesses the skills of individuals, ensuring alignment with the most suitable education, training and entrepreneurial supports offered by project partners, providing a comprehensive resource for individuals seeking to enhance their skills and pursue new opportunities.
- Digital career skills platform: The AI-powered platform developed through this project represents a significant step forward in how skills are identified, validated and connected to training opportunities at a regional level. This new digital platform aims to help Midlands workers understand and hone their career skills. The AI-powered tool shows workers where they need to upskill and helps employers plan workforce development. It also helps training providers like universities to align courses with demand.
The ReSHAPE app provides a practical tool for individuals, employers and training providers to navigate the evolving labour market.
